What Others Are Saying...
“I only had afew days to arrange for home health care for my mom coming out of the hospital. I found the positive reviews for HHO here on Checkbook, gave them a call, and together we were off to the races. Dan, Victoria, and Debbie were fantastic. They had good suggestions, we worked through what could be done from a practical perspective, and they took really good care of my mom for the next several weeks as she recovered.”

“We hired Home Health Options to care for our elderly Aunt. From the first day of contact, every interaction I had with the Home Health Options team was friendly and helpful. Jackie, our caregiver was always punctual, kind and competent. She listened to our Aunt's requests and needs and was so comforting. The team at the office was efficient, knowledgeable, and assisted us every step of the way. If you are in need of home health care for a loved one, I highly recommend Home Health Options.”

“Home Health provided our mother with an aide for over eight years (ten hours a day seven days a week). They performed a thorough evaluation and created a detailed service plan to promote and maintain her selfcare and to be as independent as possible in her activities of daily living. Mom developed a strong bond with the two primary aides she had during those years. They genuinely liked her and went above and beyond their job responsibilities to ensure an exceptional quality of life through their care, consistency and realistic expectations. The administrator Dan Taubken was exceptional to work with and approachable when there were questions or concerns regarding Mother's care. I would recommend Home Health Options Group to anyone seeking quality care for their loved ones.”

“This is a trustworthy organization. Whether the aides, whom we have utilized in our home and also to augment staffing in care settings, or the management, this is a caring and compassionate group of people dedicated to helping families cope. HHO has been part of our care equation for almost twenty years--for my dad, for my mom and for my brother's surgical recovery. We're far away, both on the West Coast, and knowing we had HHO in place was comforting. Our parents loved their carers, as did we. Choosing care providers is hard. I can, without hesitation, recommend HHO for you home health needs. Select them with confidence knowing your loved ones will be cared for lovingly and carefully.”

“Home Health Options took care of my mother not only in her home, in the hospital and also after she was moved to a nursing home toward the declining days of her life. Always having an aide from Home Health Options (HHOG) was not only a comfort but ensured peace of mind when her daughter, a nurse, was not available as she also had to continue working. Not only did my mother have dementia but her overall health worsened over the years particularly after several hospitalizations. Having HHOG aides at the bedside when hospitalized also ensured that when in the hospital, she was fed in a safe manner-not rushed, but she was also kept clean and dry and repositioned in bed to keep her skin intact. Also if a change in her condition occurred, the aide was there to notice and alert the nursing staff and sometimes the family. Overall having the aide and most often the same aide who knew my mother gave comfort to me and my family as we recognized that she would recognize my mother's needs and respond with care and kindness. I referred HHOG to not only my aunt who had the same aide for 8 years, my aunt's best friend who had her aide for about 3 years, and a friend whose mother need care at home. Another positive about HHOG is that a RN does initially go out and assess the situation, write up a care plan that meets the needs of our patients and follows with periodic visits during the time the aide is with our loved ones. Dan, the administrator also assists in making sure that the aides that are caring for our loved ones are screened and have the abilities to do the care required by each patient. All were grateful for the referral to Home Health Options.”

“I highly recommend the services of the Home Health Options Group based on personal experience. My wife and I are responsible for the welfare of our cousin, who now requires full time care. Before we called Home Health Options, we went through a number of care options in various settings. Our cousin is very demanding, and previous health care settings were not a good match. We were running out of choices. We called Home Health Options, and to our surprise, we were able to talk in depth about our situation to Dan, the owner of the company. He was patient and understanding. He made us feel that there was hope for our situation. We discussed a range of options, including full and part time health care assistance. More importantly, Dan talked about his company’s commitment to compassionate and individualized care, based on our families’ unique needs. We were impressed with the company, and it was an easy decision to have Home Health Options provide care for our cousin. We immediately felt assured by the professional and compassionate care provided by the Home Health Options team. The quality of the care made a world of difference in the outlook and attitude of our cousin. She now engages with her caregivers and has developed a special bond with her aide. She is now calm, and has a positive outlook. What a difference the Home Health Options team has made! Our relationship with our cousin has improved too. We are so happy and relieved. We are indebted to all of the staff at Home Health Options. Their care has greatly improved the quality of life of our cousin. We recommend the company without reservation.”

“After a neck surgery, my father needed at-home care. I had only a few days to find help. I contacted 5 companies and requested caregivers who were fully Covid-vaccinated. While all companies promised that they had caregivers who met my request, only Home Health Options provided proof of the vaccine cards immediately. Dan is always responsive and patient in answering my questions. Our family has benefited from the knowledge and experience of our caregivers, Patrick and Mary. We are very pleased with Home Health Options.”

“They are so accommodating. Dan went above and beyond in helping when my husband was ill. He helped me get him into a rehab facility and later provided in-home assistance during a crazy Holiday period - never complaining when situations changed and assistance had to be altered. The people who provided in-home assistance were attentive and helpful - always asking and looking for ways to assist.”

“Mary was a blessing for me, my Mother and our family. She cared for my mother since my mother was 84 yrs old at her home in McLean until she passed at 92 with Mary at her side. My mother had been ill and recommendations were to place her in a nursing home. She as not able to effectively take care of herself - could not drive, fix her own meals, take her medications, My mother was a very proud person who did not want anyone to care for her, regardless of her inability to do so and she did not want to leave her home.We were fortunate that Mary became her caretaker and as it turned out over time became her close friend. It was a difficult job for Mary to deal with my mothers attitude in the beginning. But she did and her confidence and caring nature soon gained my mother’s respect. During the first several years and as long as my mother was physically able, Mary would encourage my mother to maintain a good diet, exercise as much as possible and keep her mind active. They frequently gardened together, shopped together, accompanied mom to all of her appointments (including dr appointments). It was necessary that Mary be available to drive my mother to places as needed as we lived approximately an hour away. Mary would prepare her meals and did her best to ensure mom remained as nourished as possible. Mary became family to us. We were comforted knowing my mom was in the best care we could ever hope for. I communicated daily with Mary concerning all aspects of my mom’s needs. Due to my moms health, it often became necessary for her to be transported to drs and hospitals. Mary ensured that she never missed an appointment and that emergency transportation was available whenever necessary. During inclement weather Mary would volunteer to stay with my mother to ensure mom’s safety and comfort. Because of her nursing skills she was able to administer oxygen when needed and would advise us if emergency action should be taken. Mary was was with mom for over 8 years and they became close friends. We still communicate with Mary after my mother’s passing.”

“Almost 2 years ago, I received a call from the Assisted Living Facility where my 91 year old mother was living. The facility decided that my mother required more care than they could give and I needed to hire a private aide from 8am to 8 pm daily. Of course the facility wanted this in place immediately! It just so happened that I was leaving the country and literally had one day and a few afternoon hours to make this happen!
I had 3 companies to call. The first made me leave a message; their loss. The second was Home Health Options Group and Dan answered the phone. What a blessing that was! I had many questions and he had all the answers. I explained that I needed a person for 12 hours a day, 7 days a week and they had to meet all my criteria: licensed, insured, TB tested, positive background investigation, ideally CPR/First Aid trained, spoke English and could start tomorrow! Dan assured me that the answer to all my questions was, "Yes!"
Normally, I do not make big decisions like this quickly. I thoroughly research and search out all the information to make an informed decision. However, I had no time to do as thorough of a search. I told Dan that I was taking "a leap of faith" and would like to start immediately on a trial basis; both for us and his company. We started the next day. I signed the papers and faxed them back and never met anyone in person until I returned 10 days later.
It has been more than 1 1/2 years that we have been with Home Health Options Group. They found a wonderful, caring person named Jane who loves my mother. More importantly, my mother and family love her! We trust her implicitly and know that she takes great care of mom. What a blessing she and Home Health Options Group have been!”

“Home Health Options Group has earned the highest possible rating. They exceeded all expectations in the care of my parents. Dan Taubken, the owner of the company, could not have been more helpful, compassionate, and generous with his time and knowledge. My family was thrust into an emergent situation with both elder-parents and Dan took the time to explain the general landscape of home health care, what we should look for (even if it wasn’t with Home Health Options), and other pertinent elder care topics. We ultimately took the leap and entrusted the care of both parents on their final journey together to Home Health Options Group. Without fail, the Home Health Options team was extremely helpful and collaborative with us and the hospice care team. From Dan, to the nurses, to the daily hands-on caretakers, the respect, compassion, and dignity with which they cared for my parents was off the charts. They were always responsive, always ready to do whatever was needed, and always professional and compassionate. And they always put the needs of my parents first. The women who cared for them 24 hours a day treated them -- and us -- like family. I will never forget them.”

“We used Home Health Options Group to assist my elderly parents at their home over the past several months. Bottom line: THE BEST EVER! Everything about this company was awesome! Superior service, responsive to changing needs, very friendly and experienced staff, and reasonable rates.”

“I only used HHOG for a short time, because my wife condition deteriorated so quickly I was caught flatfooted and without any arrangements for care beyond what I was providing. I called HHOC based on Checkbook and got a quick response from Dan the owner. Within a day Dan parched together some coverage from caregivers whom he could free up on short notice and then arranged for a live-in to start a week later. All the staff were very responsible and very caring and very much better able than I to help my wife in her last days. Dan responded quickly at any hour to my questions and requests, and provided more useful advice about our end-of-life options than anyone else I encountered--including doctors and hospitals, and insurance and hospice case managers. This sort of care is expensive but HHOG rates are quite competitive. Dan fully explained how he set his rates and billing was straightforward and clear. The HHOG employees I encountered seemed to like working for Dan, and at least one said she had worked for him for over 20 years--that's a good sign.”
